SARI EDELSTEIN is a professor in the Department of English at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

She is the author of two books: Between the Novel and the News: The Emergence of American Women’s Writing and Adulthood and Other Fictions: American Literature and the Unmaking of Age. Her third book, Beach Reading: A History is forthcoming from Beacon Press in spring 2027.

Her essays and reviews have appeared in New Inquiry, Public Books, The Washington Post, and elsewhere. In 2023, she wrote and recorded an Audible Original on the pioneering work of Judy Blume called Are You There, Judy? It’s Me, Your Reader.

She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
